Today the D.C. Board of Elections ruled that Ballot Initiative 71 has enough valid signatures to qualify for November’s general election ballot. If approved by voters, the measure would repeal all criminal and civil penalties for the personal possession and limited cultivation of marijuana. CRN’s Brian Bahouth spoke with Dr. Malik Burnett, Policy Manager for the Drug Policy Alliance about the significance of Initiative 71.
